First question I asked myself when I saw the Jerry Foster owned Open Wheel Modified #5 in the pits at Ocala Speedway for the annual P.J. Wiggins Memorial was who would be in the seat since usual sespect Drake Troutman was at Hendry County Motorsports Park in Clewiston, Florida for the World of Outlaws Late Model show driving the G.R. Smith #22 * mount.

Looking up on MyRace Pass the name Lane Snookn was in that ever familiar red and white box that has saved many a journalists in the last few years.

"Lane Snook from Port Royal, Pennsylvania is was I was reading.

No way!

It's got to be some ringer disguising his true identity much like many a NASCAR driver did way back when he wanted to go to a non-sanctioned track.

After all this race track addict had never heard of any such driver down south and south of the Mason/Dixon.

After doing some research I discovered this 17 year old started racing karts at the age of  5 and by 2023  at 14 started racing Limited Late Models.

A third generation racer and spent time helping  and traveling around with the G.R. Smith Motorsports 22* team and Drake Troutman.

"He is a great kid and has been helping us out when Drake has been driving for me ." said Jerry Foster 

"After lots of talks I wanted to give him a shot and we are building a Super Late Model for later in 2026 so this experience will be valuable."

Lane Snook is the real thing and with a very successful 2025 with his limited late model watch for lane to be a familiar name south of the Mason / Dixon soon.
